REINALDO da SILVA OLIVEIRA MACUXI
Oficina de Artes e Memória (Arts and Memory Workshop)
Art Is Everything We Do documents the Sixth Indigenous Arts and Memory Workshop, held at Lago Caracaranã, in Roraima, Brazil. Through the voices of participants from different generations and Indigenous peoples, the film presents art as part of everyday life—from weaving, fishing, and hunting to jewelry-making and other contemporary practices—and emphasizes the importance of learning, sharing, and carrying knowledge into the future. The workshop is part of a broader series of initiatives organized and coordinated by Macuxi researcher Reinaldo da Silva Oliveira together with Indigenous youth and communities in Roraima, and supported by the University of São Paulo Belonging and Indigenous Research Program, with the coordination of Prof. Fernanda Pitta from MAC USP. Oliveira presented this work at the Decay Conference held in April 2026, discussing the workshops as spaces for artistic experimentation, intergenerational exchange, and the continued transformation of Indigenous knowledge.
