“Index of Mechanical Signal Decay” is a curated compilation from Dunkelheit Produktionen, mapping a collapsing system of transmission, structure, and perception through contemporary underground sound. The release moves through states of Power Electronics, Industrial, Ritual and Noise, tracing a gradual transformation from controlled aggression into fragmented abstraction and finally into pure sonic erosion.

Across 33 contributions, artists from different countries and backgrounds contribute to a shared framework of tension and decay. Harsh signal structures, mechanized rhythms, ritualistic sound design and dense noise environments form a continuous but unstable architecture — as if documenting the breakdown of a communication system that can no longer maintain coherence.

The compilation is not organized as a stylistic overview, but as a progression of intensities: from confrontation to dissolution. Early stages are dominated by direct and physical Power Electronics assaults, followed by more ritualized and industrial forms that suggest structure, repetition and control.

The final section dissolves into Noise and Experimental approaches, where form itself begins to disintegrate and only residual signal artifacts remain.
