Mwanaka Media: all sorts of haunts, hallucinations and motivations
My work takes the nature of interactive, collaborative and multidisciplinary. I work across several art fields, including among others literary (fictions, novels, essays poetry, play, short stories, songs…), musical (composition, singing, reciting, mbira, marimba, keyboards, a little guitar…), and visual (drawings, paintings, photography, collages, mixed media, installation etc…) I am interested in connection, convergence, community and cooperation, following disparate sometimes disfigured experiences, seeing how they can come together or shy away from each other to create new wholes. For this herri curation I only worked with drawings and painting mixed with textual (essays and poetry), so as to focus on specific themes and connections. It covers all sorts of haunts, hallucinations and motivations. I am not much of a gallery artist, I like and create art that refuses to be sanitized. Feel free to interact or collaborate with it… I love collaboration.
